The illustration of the ducklings is about a kid hitting puberty and the curiosity that this awakes. Under the umbrella of his parents, the ducking feels safe, loved, and comprehended. However, he begins to realize that the world is bigger than just his family and what they can provide. So he starts to wonder about the things that surround him, making him get further away from the guardianship of his parents.
His parents, on the other hand, are sad but they knew this time was coming and let the ducking go and explore for himself, hoping that the education that they gave him prior to this time, helps him to forth seeing what is his best interest and make the best decisions for his future.
It is the time of a physical separation where the presence of each other no longer be there but what has been taught and the love gave will create an eternal bond between parent and children.
Ducks look cozy and having fun with their animal friends by the ponds. The picture looks like a comfortable haven.
